Wrought iron chunk from edge of railroad track.

$450.00

A rare hefty chunk of what was most likely the top edge of a railroad track. How it broke off will never be known.

Found encased in a large cobble with no indication of what was inside.

This is a truly unique and rare piece, I have never found anything exhibiting this combination of corrosion pattern.

This significant weighty bit fits nicely in the palm of the hand with various complex textures to explore.

The wrought grain terminates on either end and is  intersected with pea size pitting texture embedded.

Approximately ½ lb of wrought iron in a compact 2.5” length, 1.25” tall and 1” thick.

This object feels imposing in the hand, beautiful textures on all sides
